Mary Wells had a beautiful voice. My favorites of hers are “You Beat Me to the Punch” and “The One Who Really Loves You”. Yes, “royalty disputes” at Motown in that era were not uncommon, and without going into detail, it was not the fault of the artists.

Besides being a great screenwriter and director, John Hughes appears to have been a lovely man. He really had the “human touch” in his work, and more importantly, knew what was important to him in life and followed it always.
Sad he is gone so soon. RIP John Hughes.
