But I couldn't pass up the chance to mention the Boss! Probably due to his Asbury Park beach roots, Bruce Springsteen has always written songs about the summer -- from early in his career (The E Street Shuffle, 4th of July Asbury Park (Sandy), Racing in the Street) to just last year (Girls in Their Summer Clothes).
